Silver Clay Workshop 21st November
Learn how to use silver clay to create a beautiful item of jewellery
Service Description
Silver or precious metal clay is a relatively recent invention. Silver clay is essentially very finely powdered silver mixed with binders to form a clay. This can be used like any other clay to mould and form and print on. In this workshop, Hilary Thorogood will guide you through making your own piece of jewellery before firing it in a kiln. During the firing process, the binders burn off, leaving behind pure silver (99.9%). Due to the lack of impurities in the finished product, it doesn't tarnish and is hypoallergenic, unlike sterling silver. You will be encouraged to add your own choice of patterns and components to the jewellery, so the finished piece will be completely unique. The workshop will take place in the comfort of Hilary's home conservatory in Leigh Sinton, a small village just 10 minutes outside Malvern, where you will be offered light refreshments and a relaxed atmosphere. Each workshop is restricted to 4 places to ensure each person is given as much attention and guidance as possible. The exact address will be emailed to you after booking.
