In this deep dive workshop you will learn how to create fluid acrylic art, in Aetheria Gallery & Studio in Great Malvern, without using a single paint brush! We will be exploring a few different techniques during the course of the day and you will end up with not one, not two, but THREE paintings. This session is informal, fun and informative, teaching you new skills that you'll be able to use independently. Is this lesson for you? Yes! Whether you are already an experienced artist wanting to learn a new style of painting, or you have some experience in fluid art and want to learn new techniques or develop your skills further, or if you've never picked up a sketch book or paintbrush in your life before, this is absolutely for you. Fluid acrylics requires no previous drawing or painting experience. Do you think you don't have a creative bone in your body? Let me prove you wrong. The class is kept small so that you are given a high level of support and attention. You will be creating work using your own choices of colours and composition, but don't worry, you will be guided every step of the way. What will you paint? There are a number of different fluid art techniques. In this session you will learn four of them. The first half of the day will be focussed on the silicone swipe and a blowout. Both techniques will be used to make a beautiful, abstract, floral piece of art. In the second half of the day we will be experimenting with different pouring methods, creating a ring pour and a straight pour. What will you learn? - how to prepare your canvas, - how to mix your paints and test them - what effects are created by different ingredients and how to achieve them - the basics of colour theory and composition, - how to layer your paints, - how to pour your paints correctly, - how to manipulate the paints to create the desired effects and lots more! What will you need? All materials are provided for you. You just need an enthusiasm to learn and to have fun. Light refreshments are included. You may wish to bring a packed lunch, or there are many places to buy something close by. Please be prepared to leave your paintings in the studio to dry, ready for collection at a later date.
