This large acrylic painting depicts a crashing wave, full of energy and the power of the ocean. Alison has always found inspiration from the sea, from it's tranquil calmness on a balmy summer evening to the tempest of the waves during a storm. Alison has sought to capture the energy behind the wave, celebrating the variety of depth of colour, and using a variety of fluid art techniques to capture its essence. A variety of paints and mica powders of different densities have caused some interesting interactions and her use of interference paints in the sea foam, adds an ethereal dimension.  You can almost hear the sound of the wave crashing.
