In Greek mythology, Selene is the Goddess of the Moon and often drives her moon chariot across the heavens.  She is the daughter of the Titans Hyperion and Theia, and sister of the sun god Helios and the dawn goddess Eos. She was traditionally worshipped on the full and new moon. Selene was very beautiful and well known for her many relationships with men. Whilst she is usually depicted pale faced and in a flowing white gown, I have depicted her silhouette and focused on the femininity of her unclothed form. She often has a halo but I have chosen to show the light radiating across the whole background, illuminating her silhouette in her carefree yet seductive dance.
