An ocean vista filled with depth and mystery. ‘Guardian of the Deep’ was painted in several 
stages using various fluid art and traditional techniques. The sunset sky and the wave were 
painted together, using palette knife and hairdryer techniques, and using a ‘cell activator’ 
to create the foam. Once this was dry the large dragon was added in several stages, using 
both a fluid art swipe and brushwork for the details. Finally the smaller dragons were 
added, providing additional depth and contrast to the piece. Finished in high gloss varnish, 
enhancing the colours, metallics and iridescent paints.
