Dandelion Wishes
I love dandelions. I think they are massively underrated, so when I painted this I wanted it to be a celebration of the dandelion and the hope that they can inspire when blowing the seeds and making a wish.
'Dandelion Wishes' was painted with acrylic paints, using fluid art Dutch pour techniques, in which the paints are carefully layered according to their transparency and opacity and how much I wanted each colour to dominate. The paints were then blown out from the centre outwards using a hairdryer, before using a skewer and cocktail stick as brushes to add the details through the wet paint.
The pearl white of the dandelion and copper in the background are beautifully accentuated by the high gloss varnish and look gorgeous under a spotlight. It is 30x23 cm, a little larger than A4.
